The price is for the entry-level 120bhp 1.6-litre Sport model when it arrives next month.

Standard kit on the drop-top includes alloy wheels, air-conditioning, five airbags and active roll bars which pop up in the event of a rollover. The base petrol engine is also available with a four-speed Tiptronic-style sequential auto, instead of the standard five-speed manual, for an extra ВЈ1,000.

Two more engine options are on offer - the

turbocharged 150bhp 1.6-litre unit from the 207 GT hatch and Peugeot’s 110bhp 1.6-litre HDi diesel, priced at ВЈ16,895 and ВЈ15,895 respectively.
